About me personally: First and foremost I'm a mom of three and wife to my soul mate. I love literally everything in life, especially: God, camping, flowers, sunny days, the sound of rain, swimming, fishing, tea, caffeine, all things food, biking, turquoise and yellow, design and style, and of course photography! My mom, a professional photographer herself, bought me my first camera when I was eight years old. It was a little red Kodak and I still have some pictures from that camera in some albums at home. Since then, my cameras have gone everywhere with me and now, decades later, I’ve embarked on a life-long journey to share my photos and through them, my love for life. I hope that you will see the same beauty and uniqueness of each moment and person that I do.
About me professionally: Until recently I’d always been a candid or landscape photographer, but my brother needed a photographer for his wedding, so he asked me. I wasn’t sure how I would go about posing everyone at first (since you don't pose flowers and mountains), but I gave it some thought and came up with some ideas I thought would help. See, since I’d always photographed candidly I didn’t think I could pose anyone. But in his wedding I found my style – photojournalism. I found that I enjoyed photographing natural interactions. It was that day that I realized that I didn't have to pose people to get a beautiful image. And when I do pose people, I don't need to follow the rules; I can bend them or even break them completely. I feel that this best represents the moment, the personalities, and the unique beauty of each person.
If you are interested in my photography services, please email me. I'm based in Saint Paul/Minneapolis Metro but I love to travel and would love to document your life, wherever that might be!

What to Expect
As a wedding photojournalist, my goal is through my photography to tell the story of your day, not create the story for you. I will be there for the duration of your choice to capture each special moment as it unfolds. Each session will include bride and groom and bridal party portraiture, but the majority of the day will be spent documenting those thoughtful, emotional, beautiful, crazy, and fun moments that occur while you're enjoying your time as a newly married couple.
I meet with each couple before the wedding to get to know their ideas, personalities, and most importantly their style. I understand that a lot of thought and planning goes into just the style of a wedding, so my goal is to understand your unique style so I make sure to artistically capture it on your special day. My goal with your photos is to tell the story of you who you are as a couple in a way that is as unique and as beautiful as you are.
As a wife and a mother to three beautiful children, if I could start it all over again, I would do it differently. I would have photographed more moments. I would have visited my grandmothers more before they passed and I would have got pictures of my grandma braiding my daughter's hair. I would have photographed the birth of all three of my children. See, I was too caught up with keeping my house clean, changing diapers, cooking dinner, work, and playing around to photograph those really special moments. Don't get me wrong I have some really great photos, probably more than the average mom, but I'm not even in any of them.
These are the moments worth capturing. Although I'm a photojournalist I will still take that perfectly posed Christmas card photo or the special portrait of your kids capturing their beauty and energy; but with my unique vision, I will also take pictures that express who you are as an individual, a couple, or a family. Wherever you are at in life, I will document it in an artistic and creative way unlike what you will get in a portrait studio.
Sessions last about 1 hour and can be in your home (if lighting permits), outside, or indoors in a location of your choice.
